Our Love Story

Some love stories begin with fireworks. Andreïna and Arra’s story began at a kid’s birthday party and a little case of mistaken identity.

It was August 27th, 2010, in Curaçao, and they met at his little cousin’s birthday celebration. When Andreïna first heard Arra’s name, she genuinely thought he was a girl. (True story!) Little did she know that the person behind the name would turn out to be the love of her life.

For Andreïna, it wasn’t love at first sight, but for Arra, he says he just knew. There was something about that day, that moment, that stuck with him. And not long after, their paths started to weave together in a way neither of them could have predicted.

Andreïna and Arra’s first date was simple and sweet. He picked her up after work and they went to Fort Nassau, sat for hours talking and laughing, slowly building something that felt safe and right. That was the beginning of A&A’s Story.

Since then, A&A’s love has taken them on the most incredible ride. Not just through big milestones, but through years of growing together, learning from one another, and always — always — having each other’s backs.

Here’s a little peek into the journey that brought them here:

  • 2010 - They meet at a birthday party on August 27th. They had their first date at First Nassau and started a relationship on October 20th.

  • 2011 – A&A took their first vacation together to the Netherlands.

  • 2012 – Arra moved to the Netherlands.

  • 2013 - Six months later, Andreïna moved to the Netherlands and they moved in together and started creating their shared home.

  • 2014 – Arra finished his propaedeutic year, and they took their first family trip to rang in the New Year in magical Paris.

  • 2015 – A&A celebrated love around at their first two weddings as guests.

  • 2016 – Andreïna earned her first diploma and they went to their first Beyoncé concert — truly a life highlight for Andreïna.

  • 2017 – A&A’s first epic road trip to Italy, filled with laughter, snacks, and questionable playlists. As a souvenir, they brought a watermelon home.

  • 2018 – Andreïna earned her second diploma, they saw Queen Bey live (again), and had a magical visit to Disney Paris. They also took a family trip with Arra’s mom and siblings to Prague and London.

  • 2019 – A year with a lot of trips. First a family adventure — this time to Budapest and Athens. Then later that year to London to the “Friends experience”. That was also the first time they missed their flight home.

  • 2020 – The world shut down, but they leaned on each other through the lockdown. From live Cooking with A&A to remodeling their house, the lockdown has truly brought them closer together. This was also the year Arra graduated and got his first “grown-up” job at LeasePlan, and they went to their first Christmas drive-thru party to celebrate life (pandemic-style).

  • 2021 – A&A skated on natural ice for the first time (and somehow didn’t fall!), and Arra co-opened a restaurant — a huge moment for him.

  • 2022 – They kicked off the year with a road trip to Denmark for Arra’s birthday where they als visited Sweden. Then, on August 27th, 12 years to the day after they met, he proposed in the most unforgettable way — in front of their families, with candles, emotion, and lots of tears. That December, they also bought their first house together.

  • 2023 – After years of saying “no” to a dog, Arra caved — and surprised Andreïna with a puppy named Joseph (a.k.a. Joey) for her 32nd birthday. She also landed her first grown-up job (finally!). Life was starting to look exactly like the one they dreamed of.

  • 2024 – They traveled to Croatia, started remodeling their home, and threw a combined engagement and housewarming party with their favorite people.

  • 2025 – In the middle of all the beautiful chaos of wedding planning, they decided to take a break and reset with a trip to Portugal.

Through every milestone, every move, every challenge and celebration, they have been by each other’s side.

His patience, kindness, and steady heart balance out her energy, care, and drive.

He’s the calm to her storm. The logic to her emotion. The smile to her (often raised) eyebrow. And after almost 15 years together, they are more than ready to say “I do.

Thank you for being part of our story — past, present, and future. We can’t wait to celebrate the next chapter with all of you.
